Skybrokers installation team finished the de-installation of an Andrew 4.6m Ku-band Earth Station antenna. The de-commissioning of this antenna was part of a de-installation of two antennas in Geneva, Switzerland. The antenna will be completely refurbished in our facility in Europe and becomes available for sale. The dismantling was filmed and the video can be watched in YouTube!

OMNIAccess Marine Network Solutions assigned Skybrokers to assist in building up her new teleport on Mallorca

OMNIAccess Marine Network Solutions (http://www.omniaccess.com) assigned Skybrokers (http://www.sky-brokers.com) to assist in building their teleport on Mallorca (Balleares Islands, Spain). OMNIAccess supports the maritime vessels with their internet access.

The local press published an article in their newspapers. Please see copy below.

Skybrokers delivered 6 earth station antennas (new and used/refurbished antennas) to Mallorca and has their installation team assemble, install and align the antennas in a 5 weeks time frame. Currently the last antenna is being finished. 'The last big antenna is tracking as we speak'  the Skybrokers antenna Installation Supervisor said. Tomorrow we will finish this challenging project.

A video was made to show you how we installed three Andrew 3.7m ESA antennas.

Skybrokers recently released a press release about the research we performed in the used equipment market.

Last month we released a worldwide press release. And I am proud to annouce a lot satellite media published the results of our global research. Below the press release:

Global research among 927 satellite professionals by Skybrokers International shows that only 7% prefer 'only new' and 32% primarily new satellite equipment. The majority prefers 'only used' 18% and primarily used (43%) equipment. According to Walter van der Plas, CEO of Skybrokers, the research shows that satellite professionals cut cost on their purchasing budgets to survive a declining market.

Van der Plas: “We started the research among our clients because we noticed a change in the type of inquiries during 2011. Customers are more and more searching for the best deals and requesting proposals for new equipment in combination with proposals for used equipment.”
